Could it really be true? Is Jesus Christ returning to the earth? Despite popular belief, the answer is an overwhelmingly Yes! In fact, the question is no longer, “Will Christ return?” but the question of greater interest is, “When will Christ return?” And the answer to that question is soon, very soon!

But before I address the return of Christ please allow me time to discuss the reality of God. In order for me to properly address the return of Christ, I must first affirm the existence of God to further my discussion on the return of Christ.  Plus, the two topics of discussions work hand and hand with one another.

So how do we know that God exists? There is a principle that mankind uses to determine if something is real or not. Normally we look to see if there is sufficient evidence to validate if something is true or false. Today I will present you with real evidence for you to consider that will either further validate the Faith that we have as believers or hopefully it will persuade the unbeliever to believe.

Rather a person’s world view is influenced by a set of religious beliefs or not. Any sane person would have to agree that the universe was created by a Higher Power with intent. There is one thing that’s for sure, mankind didn’t create it, neither can we explain how we got here. So the question that remains to be answered is, “Who did it and why?”

God knew that the day would come where mankind would question His very existence. Can you imagine how insulting this must of been for Him? It’s like my son deciding after 18 years of life to start questioning my wife and I on what day he was born. Common sense should say that since we are his parents and since we were actually there when he was born, it seems likely that we would know what day he was born on. Furthermore, there were other witnesses (doctors & nurses) that were in the room when he was born and they documented the day of his birth. The government of the United States of America recognizes that day as the official day he entered into civilization.  And if he still questioned the day of his birth then we could assume that he is either mentally impaired or in blatant denial.

I don’t care if he lives to be 107 years old, it was written what day he entered into this world and that can’t be changed.

The nerve of mankind to even question the existence of God or to ponder who it is that framed the worlds. There are some that even embrace the Big Bang theory as being responsible for life on earth. However it is ludicrous to even utter such things. And to add insult to injury, God has provided mankind with written evidence that He is the Author of all life, yet they choose to disregard it.

The bible says in the book of Romans chapter 3 for what if some don’t believe does that make the Faith of God of none effect? God forbid!

Mankind has been provided written evidence (the bible) how it all started and how it’s all going to end. Although the world is filled with naysayers and unbelievers, there’s a reason why the bible is the world’s most read and oldest book that’s still in circulation today.

TRUE STORY: A couple of months ago the local news stations aired a story on how a driver of a car lost control of his car on the freeway and crashed. The car immediately caught fire and the fire was quickly consuming the vehicle. Thankfully, there were some good hearted bystanders that saw the whole thing and they immediately began working to get the driver out of the car before it was engulfed in flames. Normally you wait until the official First Responders get there, but it wasn’t enough time. Eventually the driver was rescued, but the car he was driving was engulfed in flames soon thereafter.

By the time that the Fire Department arrived and put out the fire, the car was burnt to a crisp. It just so happened that the driver of the car was a believer and he had a bible sitting on the passenger seat. Do you not know that bible was still in perfect condition? It was such an awesome sight that all the local news stations including CNN reported the story and showed the bible that had survived the same fire that charred the automobile. For any unbelievers reading this blog, please know that God is real! Don’t let anyone tell you different. If you are one of those that questioned the existence of God and pondered how the world began. Please stop. The bible says in Psalm 14, “The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”

The threshold of human comprehension comes to a stop after death. Beyond death mankind really doesn’t know what lies ahead. Therefore we need the aid of the One who is eternal in nature. We need the One that existed before we were ever formed. We need the One that formed us and wrote the instructional manual (bible) that teaches us how to live a quiet and peaceable life here on earth. And finally, we need the One who can convey to us about the life that is to come.

So as you can see, the only One that fits this description is God. Mankind needs God for He is the only One that can truly help us.

Now that we have adequately addressed the reality of God, we can better understand why Jesus must come back.

When God first created the earth there was perfect peace in it. There was no killing, no stealing, no lying, no greed, no dishonesty, etc…..nothing but peace. But something happened to disturb the perfect peace that we once enjoyed. The element of Sin entered into civilization and resulted in things going awry and we are still experiencing the diabolical effects of sin today.

I won’t go into detail about how sin entered civilization in this blog, but I spoke about it in great detail in the blog entitled, “Thy Kingdom Come.”

The sin condition allowed for this world to be temporarily governed by Lucifer, now known as the devil. He has advocated for mankind to oppose God by not believing in Him since the very beginning of time. There is a power struggle that has been going on for ages between good and evil, God and the devil. The devil wants to be worshipped as God. He wants equal or greater power than God. You can read more about this in the bible, Isaiah 14:12.

The devil’s insubordinate ways resulted in him being kicked out of heaven and as a result his dreams of being worshipped in the kingdom of heaven were dissolved. Therefore he turned his attention to making the earth his domain. He has temporarily succeeded in making mankind to worship him and has temporarily earned the title, “the god of this world.” That’s why Jesus said to Pontius Pilate when they were preparing to crucify Him, “My kingdom is not of this world: if My kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is My kingdom not from hence.”

Note if you would the words, “but now.” In other words Jesus was notifying Pilate that although My kingdom is not of this world because the world is the devil’s temporary kingdom RIGHT NOW, but the day is coming where the Kingdom of Christ is going to exist on the earth, as it is in Heaven. Why, because the earth rightfully belongs to God. We must remember He made it.

The Gospel of John chapter 1 declares that, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.

You see, the return of Christ is not just some type of Christian pipe dream. It’s bigger than the confines of human rationale and that’s why many people can’t grasp it. The return of Christ must be embraced by faith. Christianity is simply the vehicle that God used to accomplish His purposes here on earth. Since we availed ourselves to be used of God to convey His message of love to the world, we shall be rewarded handsomely.

I admonish you to remain sober and vigilant. The bible says that it’s going to be just like it was in the days of Noah. People will be caring on like they normally do and they won’t even be looking for the return of Christ. I can somewhat understand why the world’s behavior is what it is because they don’t believe. But the thing that concerns me is that many of my brothers and sisters in the Faith seem to be asleep as well, however I am confident that God will wake them up from their slumber.

When Christ returns He is going to show us how to govern the affairs of men. There won’t be any such thing as the liberal or the conservative perspectives, but the whole world will be United by God.

Out of all the different forms of human government, Democracy proves to be the best. However as good as it may be, Democracy is still found to be lacking because the people in a Democracy remain divided.

Although Democracy projects a message of unity, it is incapable of addressing the division that lies in the heart of a people. You must understand that Democracy is not the cause of the division we see throughout the land. This is a result of the fallen nature (sin) that inherently lies within every man/woman and it is the cause of all the world’s problems.

The world is growing further and further away from God and as a result violence continues to rise. It is not right for a human being to take the life of another human being. The first commandment that God gave us is, “Thou shall not kill.” Although killing has been woven into the fabric of humanity since Cain killed Abel, God wanted to make it clear that this was not my original plan for mankind and I don’t approve of it.

All of the ills that we see in our world today are a direct result of the sin condition. Jesus states in Mark 7:20, “That which comes out of the man, is the thing that defiles the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”

Mankind can’t continue to endure the conditions of this world. Times have gotten so bad that some people have started taking their own lives thinking that is the only way out, which explains the increase in the suicide rate.

But humanity has gone from bad to worse because not only are people taking their own lives, but the devil has influenced them to also take the lives of others before they take their own life, hence, the rise of mass murders around the globe.

If Jesus doesn’t come back soon, no flesh shall be saved. Let us pray:

“Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”
